Who Nominated You As The Rule-Maker?

Posted on December 14, 2015December 10, 2023 by Paul

I don't like seeing people at their worst. I don't like going to the hospital. I don't like looking at mug shots. I don't like seeing people in accidents. I'm just not "that guy".

Some people love it. It's like crack to them to see someone else going to jail because they are a meth addict.

I feel bad for addicts.

I feel bad for sick people.

I feel bad when people are on the street.

I feel bad when I can't help people.

I hope others would feel bad for me and try to help.

-

I don't watch the news often because all I see on the news, mostly, is the condition of the human spirit.

How humans treat other humans?

It's gross.

It's disgusting. There's no reason to do what some do to others.

I get tired of seeing the latest ISIS something. The Black lives matter thing. The Ferguson something. The death trenches and the heads cut off and the abuse of others.

It's sad.

The human condition is sick.

-

It's also bossy.

I once wrote this quote:

The entire world order is based on one simple principle: people telling other people what they can and cannot do. That's not the amazing part. The amazing part is that effectively 90% of the decisions made by others for others, have no clear reason for being. If what I'm saying is true (and it is) than it's reasonable to assume that all of us could read those 3 sentences above and follow with a fourth to easily prove the point: "Take for example ... " - Paul King (me)

Take for example...

What you should or should not eat.

People have been telling us (others) for always and ever what is and isn't "good" for us. What's "bad" for us. Telling us this will kill us and that will too.

I don't know anyone who has escaped death.

Does anyone want to die? No.

But all of this is sold as "prolong your life by" doing what WE say you do.

How about this instead - "have a better quality of life by taking these steps" - because you're going to die when it's your time to die.

There's no reason for people to be telling other people what they should and shouldn't eat.

You do you.

I'm going to eat this bacon cake with salt icing and top it off with a 44 oz. Coke.

What we should or should not be allowed to own.

Speaking of food, the mayor of NYC has banned the sale of certain sizes of soda. Imagine.

Someone else is telling 9 million people how much of one serving they can have.

If you want to drink yourself into a sugar coma? Knock yourself out.

"Guns are bad." "Guns are good." "I don't like guns so you shouldn't have one."

Take guns away from people.

Give guns to others.

Shut up.

Guns are bad in the wrong hands. How does one know in which hands the gun will be bad?

The gun can't pull it's own trigger no more than the spoon can feed a person. (I was going to say 'no more than a car can drive itself, but that's been happening a lot lately)

"Let's just ban all guns. Make it so no one can get one."

But the government of course.

Because the government isn't made up of other people. It's a mystical place where no one is mentally ill or capable of mass control.

History is the great teacher when it comes to that lesson, as every time in history a group of individuals lost their ability to protect themselves, within only a few years they were killed or enslaved by the millions.

What we should and shouldn't feel 'guilty' over.

"We're killing the planet." "We're not killing the planet."

We can save humanity if we save the planet.

You should feel guilty for killing the planet they say.

The planet was perfectly happy before humans arrived.

Animals lived. Plants thrived. And Volcanoes didn't exist.

The tectonic plates didn't shift on their own creating various regions to live on Earth.

Maybe they did.

People try and compound guilt on others like it's a spectator sport.

Don't eat this. Don't drive that. Don't think the other.

Sure, there's some things that just shouldn't be done. Mostly they are called the 10 commandments and can be found in the Bible.

Pointing that out should make me feel guilty.

I don't.

The 10 Commandments were written - twice - for a reason.

Merry Christmas. Joy to the world.

God bless you.

No guilt.

-

There are some common sense things that others tell us to do that are good 'rules' to follow.

Don't steal.

Don't kill.

You'll have a higher quality life if you stay away from meth.

We've always had rules and laws and people telling us what to do. 10% of it actually has a legitimate reason.

But a lot of the stuff we hear from others is nothing more than self serving. A way to get us all to act and be sheep.

Because "they want us to".

Sometimes that's not a good enough reason.

You do you.

Taking charge of your own life and doing what makes you happy and fulfilled, that leads to Open Doors and Opportunity.

Not playing the victim and being upset about every little thing others are doing is a type of freedom few have - but more people would do less butting in of other people's problems, thoughts, and ideas, the world would be a better place.

Open Doors and Opportunity – it’s what we wake up each day hoping to find.

We need Open Doors and Opportunity in order to move forward, become healthier, and live better lives.

Spiritual, emotional, physical, and financial improvements can only come from finding and using Open Doors and Opportunity to your advantage … (more)

Welcome to Open Doors and Opportunity!

My name is Paul and I’m the owner of this blog.

The picture of me above was taken by a very famous photographer who has also photographed Presidents of the United States, numerous celebrity actors and various sports professionals, as well as other business professionals like myself.

I was supposed to have a feature article written about what a great marketing professional I was in GQ Magazine, or Fortune Magazine, or Forbes, or Playboy … one of those … but then, things went sideways.

    Really sideways.

The article was never written, the photo was never used anywhere, I was fired from the job that made that photo possible, I lost my home and ended up traveling all over in my pick-up truck (known as Unit #4)  and staying in various Wal-Mart parking lots (what I like to call the Wal-Mart Condo Association) for 2 years.

In the meantime, I’ve done everything. I’ve been a partner in the largest nightclub in SWFL, written songs with Grammy Winners in the Songwriter Hall of Fame, started as a public relations grunt and worked my way to Chief Marketing Officer of a restaurant group, and much, much, much more and many things.

It’s been a crazy life – with highs and lows not experienced by anyone who ever “played it safe” — but I was born to live, and so, that’s what’s I’ve done. These are just some of those (all true 100%) stories.
