I’m Like A Golf Whisperer

Posted on August 30, 2015December 10, 2023 by Paul

When I was in 2nd grade, and I can not tell you the reason, I began golf talking to myself. Whispering in my own mind … playing commentary … “He’s about to take a test. No one knows if he can pass this test. He seems confident. He knows what’s on the test. He just…

Christmas Comes And It’s Exciting … Or Is It?

Posted on August 30, 2015December 10, 2023 by Paul

We never had much growing up. To say that is an understatement but that’s not really true. We had a roof over our head, a little food on the table (I can’t recall ever being truly hungry or about to starve despite the number of times I told my mom I was about to die),…

From 01-07-2007 – VCs Plus Record Labels Equal Failure

Posted on August 30, 2015August 7, 2019 by Paul

SUNDAY, JANUARY 07, 2007 VC’s + Record Labels = Failure It’s astounding to me that VC’s are set up just like record labels are – To fail “most of the time”. What kind of business does that? Build themselves in a way that it’s expected you will fail 90% of the time? People with money,…

From 01-01-2007 – Bubble, Blubble, … Geez.

Posted on August 30, 2015August 7, 2019 by Paul

Bubble, Bubble,…Geez. Michael Arrington over at TechCrunch has a post entitled “Bubble, Bubble, Bubble” in which he says he believes we’re not in a bubble with Web 2.0. I agree, and disagee. This isn’t a bubble, this is an extention of Web 1.0 with much cooler heads at the helm and cheaper infrastructure. But still……

From 01-01-2007 – Web 2.0 Bites The Big One (Someday)

Posted on August 30, 2015August 7, 2019 by Paul

Web 2.0 Bites the Big One (someday) It’s funny to look back on your life. This page was a political page where I wrote all manor of prognostications (over 150) on the heavy subjects of the day, and quickly grew bored. I deleted every one of those post when I decided to utilize this space…

From 01-01-2004 — Happy New

Posted on August 30, 2015August 7, 2019 by Paul

THURSDAY, JANUARY 01, 2004 HAPPY NEW …. Oh, you get the idea. 01/01/04. Amazing! Doesn’t seem possible. But here it is. And I hope it’s going to be a good one for you. This new year presents a lot of challenges for me personally. Last year I showcased for music labels in Nashville — that…

About

Open Doors and Opportunity – it’s what we wake up each day hoping to find.

We need Open Doors and Opportunity in order to move forward, become healthier, and live better lives.

Spiritual, emotional, physical, and financial improvements can only come from finding and using Open Doors and Opportunity to your advantage … (more)

Welcome to Open Doors and Opportunity!

My name is Paul and I’m the owner of this blog.

The picture of me above was taken by a very famous photographer who has also photographed Presidents of the United States, numerous celebrity actors and various sports professionals, as well as other business professionals like myself.

I was supposed to have a feature article written about what a great marketing professional I was in GQ Magazine, or Fortune Magazine, or Forbes, or Playboy … one of those … but then, things went sideways.

Really sideways.

The article was never written, the photo was never used anywhere, I was fired from the job that made that photo possible, I lost my home and ended up traveling all over in my pick-up truck (known as Unit #4)  and staying in various Wal-Mart parking lots (what I like to call the Wal-Mart Condo Association) for 2 years.

In the meantime, I’ve done everything. I’ve been a partner in the largest nightclub in SWFL, written songs with Grammy Winners in the Songwriter Hall of Fame, started as a public relations grunt and worked my way to Chief Marketing Officer of a restaurant group, and much, much, much more and many things.

It’s been a crazy life – with highs and lows not experienced by anyone who ever “played it safe” — but I was born to live, and so, that’s what’s I’ve done. These are just some of those (all true 100%) stories.
