I just saw an internet meme.
Facebook strikes again.
"When I was a kid I thought that Quicksand was going to be a much bigger problem than it is."
Too funny.
When you're a kid it seems like you're always going to land in quicksand.
When you grow up, you worry about it all the time.
How many times in life have I panicked or been worried or scared about something that never happened.
Maybe didn't even exist.
Quicksand.
I can't count the times I landed myself in quicksand simply by my thoughts.

Quicksand Thoughts
A lot of time the quicksand thoughts can prove you wrong.
I'd say every time.
For instance, this one time I was going to go broke.
I got sick.
I couldn't work.
I was going to lose everything.
I was going to sell everything else I didn't lose.
I wouldn't have a place to live.
I was scared.
Worried.
In a panic.
Quicksand.
Guess what?
It all happened.
And you know what?
It doesn't matter.
Worrying about it happening really was quicksand.
It drug me down.
I was depressed.
I was sinking slowly.
Then all at once.
I was going to drown in quicksand and die.
Dead.
Turns out, losing everything didn't kill me.
The quicksand almost did though.
Those negative thoughts - did they ever drag me down.

The Struggle Is Real, But Stop Struggling
The thing about quicksand is this: the more you struggle and put up a fight, the faster you go under.
If you simply remain calm and peaceful, you'll stay above ground longer.

Jesus says, who by worrying can add one day to your life - or something like that.
He actually says, "Do not worry."
Don't have quicksand in your life.
Don't let quicksand take over your mind.
Don't let quicksand take over your body.
Don't let quicksand take over who you are.
When your life is spiraling and out of control, let it.
Feel like you're being pulled under?
Just be.
Just breathe.
Pray.
Love more.
Hope more.
But don't worry.
Don't stress.
It won't help.
It's quicksand.
You're going to be okay.
He got you this far.
He will throw you a rope and pull with all His strength to get you out.
Am I talking to you or to me?
You know it's everyone.
