Get What You Want By Giving Others What They Need (A Simple Formula To Get Your Way Every Time)

Posted on September 28, 2015December 10, 2023 by Paul

Life is NOT a Zero Sum Game.

There aren't “winners” and “losers”.

If it's been your mentality to think in these ways, you're not doing yourself, much less anyone else, any favors.

The truth is, one of the best ways to get your way every time - to truly Open Doors and find Opportunity - is to surrender your own desires to someone else. When you do this, usually no matter what it is you want, you'll get it.

The way it works is this:

You have to place someone else - their hopes, dreams, and desires, ahead of your own.

-

You have to live a life of service to others.

Mother Teresa knew all about service to others. She was the most selfish person in the world. She spent her whole life getting what she wanted, by giving others what they needed. She understood how important this principle is.

Let me tell you the Secret about having an attitude of service to others – you receive more than they do. And you always get your way.

How is serving others getting your way?

Good question.

Have you ever given money to someone who didn't have any? Feel good about it or did you think to yourself, “I just lost money!”. You would feel better about helping someone who didn't have much than you would helping yourself to a double latte fruit smoothie.

-

Try this.

Next time your spouse, your friend, your co-worker, or your children come to you and tells you they want to do something that's completely rational but you're unsure of, give them your overwhelming support.

Do everything you can to help them out.

Help them fulfill their dreams. Be in complete service to them and watch as your life is completely transformed.

Having the attitude of service to others ensures you get your way each and every time. Because all you have to do to get your way is serve others.

Don't be selfish.

Want what's best for everyone.

Remember life does not revolve around you.

There are no winners and losers. And if you really feel this way, you will be the real loser and never find the Open Doors and Opportunity you're looking for.

-

We all have faults, trials, tribulations, hurts, pains, secrets.

We've all been through things that no one knows about. We all suffer and we're everyone looking for someone who will help us rather than be against us. Turn this around! Forget about yourself. Stop seeking out someone who will help you.

Stop looking for comfort from others.

BE THAT PERSON FOR SOMEONE ELSE!

I PROMISE YOU your life will be COMPLETELY transformed.

But you say, "If I am always doing things for others, then who's going to do anything for me?"

Don't think like that.  Those people will come into your life when you need them.

Then you say, "the road to hell is paved with good intentions".

Yes, it's true - very often we can have someone's best interest at heart and that person will totally screw us over.

Sometimes we will try and help someone and they will literally turn into another person. That's fine.

Walk away from those situations - but don't change your attitude.

Whatever caused them to be or act that way towards you is something they have to deal with, not you. Don't be hurt by it. Just shrug it off and move forward.

-

Compassion + an attitude of service towards others = More Open Doors and Opportunity than you can imagine.

And everyone needs more peace in their life. This will bring it.

Give it a try and you'll see.

Nothing feels better, nothing helps your life more, than serving other people.

Open Doors and Opportunity – it’s what we wake up each day hoping to find.

We need Open Doors and Opportunity in order to move forward, become healthier, and live better lives.

Spiritual, emotional, physical, and financial improvements can only come from finding and using Open Doors and Opportunity to your advantage … (more)

Welcome to Open Doors and Opportunity!

My name is Paul and I’m the owner of this blog.

The picture of me above was taken by a very famous photographer who has also photographed Presidents of the United States, numerous celebrity actors and various sports professionals, as well as other business professionals like myself.

I was supposed to have a feature article written about what a great marketing professional I was in GQ Magazine, or Fortune Magazine, or Forbes, or Playboy … one of those … but then, things went sideways.

    Really sideways.

The article was never written, the photo was never used anywhere, I was fired from the job that made that photo possible, I lost my home and ended up traveling all over in my pick-up truck (known as Unit #4)  and staying in various Wal-Mart parking lots (what I like to call the Wal-Mart Condo Association) for 2 years.

In the meantime, I’ve done everything. I’ve been a partner in the largest nightclub in SWFL, written songs with Grammy Winners in the Songwriter Hall of Fame, started as a public relations grunt and worked my way to Chief Marketing Officer of a restaurant group, and much, much, much more and many things.

It’s been a crazy life – with highs and lows not experienced by anyone who ever “played it safe” — but I was born to live, and so, that’s what’s I’ve done. These are just some of those (all true 100%) stories.
