A Real Estate Agent, An Antiques Store Owner, And A Homeless Guy Meet In Naples

Posted on May 16, 2016December 10, 2023 by Paul

On the way to the beach I met a couple from California.

They had just got out of their car and were surveying the ocean in all it's afternoon glory.

As it happened they are in town to buy a second home.

"Moorings nice?", asking me as if I belonged there.

"Yeah. Condo's start at $1.2 million, houses are $4 million. Basically that way from Park Shore down."

They didn't flinch.

We subsequently talked hurricanes, business, California, life in general, and this blog.

Quick conversation.

Good conversation.

Millionaires and a 'homeless' dude. Neither scared of the other and both getting along.

I loved it and it's part of the reason I love this area.

The quality of life can't be beat.

It's like living on a private island, but not.

We were having this conversation next to a house that was probably worth $12-20 million.

No big deal.

And that was really what was cool about the conversation - it was "conversational".

It was such a "matter of fact" conversation it made me remember that no matter if you have a $3 million house or live in your truck, there are places like Naples that provide Open Doors and Opportunity for everyone.

Here there is rich and poor. But there's also rich and super rich.

There's even mega rich (we all laughed about the mega McMansions people are building.)

--

They actually thought what I was doing  - living a decidedly non-materialistic life in search of other Open Doors and Opportunity was cool.

"You're young."

California laid back attitude in Naples.

They actually believed that before too long, I was going to buy a $3 million house too.

That's the vibe I got anyhow.

Maybe I'll buy the $11 million house I moved down here to buy in the first place (yes, this is true) ... it's still on the market, I just walked by it two days ago (I could have gotten it for $10 a couple years ago, but the market bounced and now it's 11.950.)

It's right next to the Naples Pier.

I've always loved that house. The idea of buying that house, tearing it down, and building what I want in it's place - again, right next to the Naples Pier ...

Just need the right Open Doors and Opportunity to make it happen. And it could happen.

Open Doors and Opportunity – it’s what we wake up each day hoping to find.

We need Open Doors and Opportunity in order to move forward, become healthier, and live better lives.

Spiritual, emotional, physical, and financial improvements can only come from finding and using Open Doors and Opportunity to your advantage … (more)

Welcome to Open Doors and Opportunity!

My name is Paul and I’m the owner of this blog.

The picture of me above was taken by a very famous photographer who has also photographed Presidents of the United States, numerous celebrity actors and various sports professionals, as well as other business professionals like myself.

I was supposed to have a feature article written about what a great marketing professional I was in GQ Magazine, or Fortune Magazine, or Forbes, or Playboy … one of those … but then, things went sideways.

    Really sideways.

The article was never written, the photo was never used anywhere, I was fired from the job that made that photo possible, I lost my home and ended up traveling all over in my pick-up truck (known as Unit #4)  and staying in various Wal-Mart parking lots (what I like to call the Wal-Mart Condo Association) for 2 years.

In the meantime, I’ve done everything. I’ve been a partner in the largest nightclub in SWFL, written songs with Grammy Winners in the Songwriter Hall of Fame, started as a public relations grunt and worked my way to Chief Marketing Officer of a restaurant group, and much, much, much more and many things.

It’s been a crazy life – with highs and lows not experienced by anyone who ever “played it safe” — but I was born to live, and so, that’s what’s I’ve done. These are just some of those (all true 100%) stories.
