I would say that I am an optimist. I always think that the best is yet to come. But is it? Really? I ask because I know about a billion or more people who are struggling to just get by - and all of them are asking questions and wondering what's going to happen to them and how is it going to happen. They can't see a way out.
Maybe you can't either.
So what are some things you can do to get through whatever trial you're going through?
Here are 6 things you can do that lead to Open Doors and Opportunity.

Wake Up.
As crazy as it sounds you have to get in the habit of waking up each day. Most especially when you're under stress.
The fact is the bed is a comfort. We all feel better when we're in bed.
My grandmother told me a story of when she was a kid and a tornado was coming (she called it a hurricane, but they don't have hurricanes in Kentucky).
Her grandma yelled at her "Maggie you've got to get in the house right now!! A hurricane is coming!"
"A hurricane??!"
She didn't even know what was one. And as she put it, "I was ready to go to bed right then!".
It's easy to stay in bed or want to go back to bed when things are going wrong.
I remember one time when I was installing carpet I reluctantly got out of bed and got ready for work, walked outside and was stunned to find that my truck had been broken into and all my tools were stolen.
I turned around and went straight back to bed. I didn't even say anything to anyone. I just crawled back in bed.
I wanted to cry. Instead I went back to sleep and figured I would deal with it later.
Get out of bed. Deal with whatever it is you have to deal with. Even if you don't solve your problem that day, get in the habit of getting out of bed and at least trying.
Make a little progress, if possible, every single day.
Take a Nap
Stress will wear you out.
Even though you may want to stay in bed, what good is staying in bed if you can't sleep and all you do is toss and turn because you're so worried?
Just get up. And in the afternoon, nod off for a few if you can.
At some point you will become so tired that no matter what's going on, you'll be able to take a little cat nap - or maybe even one of those 4 hour naps your body really needs.
I've said before but we nap the first 6 years of our lives and then some bureaucrat decided we'd be better off not napping and instead do something else - and so the school stripped the right of napping away from us and we've spent the rest of our lives getting tired in the afternoon.
Nap. Don't stay in bed if you only toss and turn. Don't stay in bed period. Bed won't help you.
Take a nap in the afternoon. Rejuvenate your mind and body. If nothing else, just close your eyes and clear your mind.
Pray
Why not? What could it hurt to say a prayer? Ask for help. Ask for answers.
People get so bent out of shape sometimes when you tell them to just let go and let God. Well, that's one of the reasons He's here.
Will he help? Who knows? I have no earthly idea. I like to believe He would help everyone. Like I said, I know about a billion people who need some kind of help.
It would help if God helped.
But He's not going to help if you're not going to at least ask. Maybe for some he will - we all know and see people who are blessed beyond measure and that only comes from one source, but ...
Don't look around at what others have.
God is good to those He chooses to be good to. You've got no control over that. So don't worry about what other people have or don't have. It's not helping you, right?
Maybe this is you:
I spent all my life looking at what others had and wishing that I too had something of my own.
How unfair that Bill Gates has $70 billion and I can't afford my electric bill. How unfortunate that Richard Branson has $5 billion and gets to fly to space and I'm stuck here on earth.
It doesn't matter. Don't compare.
Be grateful and thankful those people have what they have.
Don't be destroyed by jealousy. That mindset will close doors faster than you can imagine.
It's not worth it to go looking over your shoulder at what other people have and wishing you had that too.
Because I promise and guarantee you - what you have, right now, is something billions would love to have. That's unlimited possibilities.
Remember how blessed you are and give thanks.
It's good to give thanks.
Thanksgiving comes one time a year but it needs to be practiced 365 a year.
The fact is, you are blessed. Things are good.
Are you struggling? Are you having a hard time? Are you stressed and worried and wondering what's next and how you're going to do what you need to do in order to do whatever it is you need?
Possibly. But you're blessed. Give thanks.
Roof? Blessing. Food? Blessing. Electric? Blessing.
Count'em up count'em up. One by one. I promise you, there's a thousands reasons for you to be thankful today - right this moment.
Since you're reading this, start there. Be thankful for 6 things you can do that lead to Open Doors and Opportunity. Be thankful that I've been through it and can help.
Be a help to others.
Which leads me to remind you to be a help to others.
It's not all about you. No matter what you have going on at this particular time, within a year you will find that your particular circumstances will be 110% different in every way.
Life is not static. It does not stand still. Even in the middle of your struggle you still have the talent and ability to help others in need.
Even if it is just saying an encouraging word.
Sure you might want to help in other ways - but you do what you can do.
Take a moment to transfer your thoughts and energy from helping yourself and instead towards giving to others.

Is the best yet to come? Of course it is.
I like to believe mine is.
Having hope for the future is awesome.
Knowing that the way things are right now are not the way things are going to be in 5-10-20 months, is awesome.
Having the belief that God is good is awesome.

Little by little these 6 things you can easily do will lead to Open Doors and Opportunity - and you'll be able to change your life for the better.
