6 Steps To Being Humble

Posted on October 20, 2015May 26, 2025 by Paul
God painted a dinosaur in the heavens with clouds and gasses.

If studies were taken on the subject we would place our bet that those who exude humbleness in their life are met with more Open Doors and Opportunity than those who are arrogant or conceited.

This sounds like common sense, but you'd be surprised how many times we meet with people with a sense of openness -who we think would make good business partners - only to find out how big their head really is.

You don't want to be that person. But how can you become more humble?

Here are 6 simple things you can do to humble yourself - and these 6 things will definitely help you find more Open Doors and Opportunity.

1. Can I cure cancer?

If you can not cure cancer, you are not so lofty an individual. You are normal as no one has been able to cure cancer.

2. Can I make the Earth stop rotating around the moon?

If you can not make the Earth stop rotating around the moon, you are not so lofty an individual. You are normal as no one has been able to stop the Earth rotating around the moon.

3. Can I make a butterfly speak?

If you can not make a butterfly speak, you are so lofty an individual. You are normal as no one has been able to make a butterfly speak.

Since you can not do one thing on a grand scale as God, now ask yourself this:

4. What can I do?

A. You can give to others in abundance.

Give them joy, Give them peace. Give them happiness. Give them rest. Give them understanding. Give them laughter. Give them love.

B. You can accept from others abundance.

Joy. Peace. Happiness. Rest. Understanding. Laughter and Love.

When you learn that you can give to others and receive from others, but you can not control the universe, you will be humbled.

Humility is a feeling of being blessed by God.

Use humility to your advantage.

BONUS (and this is HUGE):

One note about humility and being humble that you should know - Neither have anything to do with modesty.

People often sarcastically use the phrase, "oh, he's so modest" as an insult - as a way to say or mean a person is not humble.

Humility does not mean modesty.

Being modest is a personality characteristic.

Being humble is a reflection of understanding. Understanding of how blessed you are.

Don't let others confuse the two for you.

You can be humble because of your blessings but still tell others how wonderful and talented and great you are without being immodest.

Open Doors and Opportunity – it’s what we wake up each day hoping to find.

We need Open Doors and Opportunity in order to move forward, become healthier, and live better lives.

Spiritual, emotional, physical, and financial improvements can only come from finding and using Open Doors and Opportunity to your advantage … (more)

Welcome to Open Doors and Opportunity!

My name is Paul and I’m the owner of this blog.

The picture of me above was taken by a very famous photographer who has also photographed Presidents of the United States, numerous celebrity actors and various sports professionals, as well as other business professionals like myself.

I was supposed to have a feature article written about what a great marketing professional I was in GQ Magazine, or Fortune Magazine, or Forbes, or Playboy … one of those … but then, things went sideways.

    Really sideways.

The article was never written, the photo was never used anywhere, I was fired from the job that made that photo possible, I lost my home and ended up traveling all over in my pick-up truck (known as Unit #4)  and staying in various Wal-Mart parking lots (what I like to call the Wal-Mart Condo Association) for 2 years.

In the meantime, I’ve done everything. I’ve been a partner in the largest nightclub in SWFL, written songs with Grammy Winners in the Songwriter Hall of Fame, started as a public relations grunt and worked my way to Chief Marketing Officer of a restaurant group, and much, much, much more and many things.

It’s been a crazy life – with highs and lows not experienced by anyone who ever “played it safe” — but I was born to live, and so, that’s what’s I’ve done. These are just some of those (all true 100%) stories.
