Do you know anyone that has ever cheated death? No one cheats death. You're going to die. Sorry. So why improve your health? Because people want you to. They're all the time telling you and giving you ways that you can. I'm going to as well, but these aren't your typical ideas for improving health. Quiet the opposite.
Here are 5 ways to improve your health in order to specifically be in the right frame of mind to find Open Doors and Opportunity.
(BTW, even thought I fully believe you should follow this advice, there are plenty of opportunities in exploiting each one of these hot button topics in business)
1. Stop listening to "The Experts" when it comes to health, food, and exercise. Just drink more water.
These people only want to control your life.
They all have an agenda and until you figure that out, you're only going to go from one thing to another thing listening to all the expert.
Eggs are good. Eggs are bad.
Wine is good. Wine is bad.
Sitting is good. Sitting will kill you.
Exercise is great. Exercise isn't worth much.
Multi-Vitamins are essential. Multi-Vitamins don't do anything.
You name it, you'll hear it from the experts.
Who are the experts? I'll give you an example from an organization that sounds like it's there for the good of everyone:
The Center For Science In The Public Interest.
These people must be the best people in the entire world! They are a Center, for Science, in the Public interest.
Wow. We should listen to them.
Until you realize they are behind some of the most idiotic "health scares" of the 21st century. Like what you say?
So someone will come in and say, "salt is bad!". And these people will run "test" and come to the conclusion "salt is bad" and then they will sue.
They'll sue businesses that use salt (businesses are just people - so they sue Johnny and Sally business owner), and they'll sue city and county governments and they'll sue school boards, and they'll sue the federal government. All in a bid to "reduce the risk of salt".
Bacon is bad. Coffee is bad. Trans-fats are bad. SODA, for crying out loud is soda ever bad!
Not really.
When someone has an agenda to control other people's lives and actions - how they raise their kids and limit the choices an individual has, those people will find every way to make sure they are right and they will sue anyone into compliance in an effort to take away your freedom and make you live the life they want you to live.
Limit your sugar if you want.
Stop drinking alcohol as much if you like.
Don't eat steak if you don't want to.
Go to an all fish diet if it makes you feel better.
You want to be healthier? You do you and let others do them.
Quoting a so-called "expert" doesn't do anything good for anyone else. The experts only have an agenda. Don't make it your agenda. That only leads to stress.
Your agenda should be to get up and live your life and eat a piece of cake if you want to or can. You're not escaping death. Might as well enjoy that HoHo.
And drink more water.
2. Stop listening to these people who preach the religion of Global Warming or Climate Change or whatever it's named today.
It's another effort to control you and it's something, like death, that is completely and totally out of your own power to do anything about even if you banded together with 6 billion other people on the planet to change.
How do I know?
Do you remember the dinosaurs?
They gone. Could you have stopped them from vanishing? Nope.
Remember when the earth had one piece of land and it was surrounded by water? Before the tectonic plates shifted and created many separate and distinct land masses and islands?
It happened. Could you stop the volcanoes erupting and ripping the earth apart? Nope.
Remember the hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, great freezes, and other natural disasters from 1,000 BC until the mid 19th century? 20th century?
They happened too. And I have to tell you, if you were here when they happened, you wouldn't have been able to stop them either.
The fact is, fear over this global stuff is once again, a way to control you. To stress you out. To make you live the kind of life someone else wants you to live.
Drive what we tell you to drive.
Do what we tell you to do.
Paint your house the color we tell you to paint it.
Live how we tell you to live - and Mother Earth will live too!
Whatever.
You do you. You wanna drive a Pre-Us (as in, before humans ruined the damn planet and it was a pristine place) - buy one and drive it. All good.
Wanna paint your house green? Go for it.
The point is this, fearing what you can not control, and living under the thumb of those who want to control what they can't control, so they choose to control people instead, places a certain amount of stress on your mind, body, and soul.
Stress is not good for health.
Ignore these prognosticators of doom and gloom and know that all they want is to control you and the other 6 billion people on the planet - because they can't, in no way shape form or fashion, control the planet itself.
This planet is going to do what it's going to do. No reduction in cow flatulence (because remember, people want you to stop eating meat for your health, right?) is going to help.
Period.
You do you. Because all these people telling you what to do, they're just going to do them and then plant a tree and call it good.
3. Turn off the news.
The news is only going to report what so-n-so says you should eat and what someone else says is going to happen to the planet if you don't eat what they tell you to eat and do what they tell you to do.
The news is doom and gloom. They will always go for the bad over the good.
I used to have a boss who always wanted me to have the news come out and cover our event.
"Look at the thousands of people. Look how much fun everyone is having. Look at what good press this would make."
I knew that no matter how good the press wants to be, when an accident happened, and surely there was going to be several if not many accidents, the entire newscast would focus on that.
That's just the news.
"Thousand of people showed up to this great event, but then tragedy struck as a 16 year old girl .... whatever".
News is something you can live without.
News can stress you out. And if you want to live a healthier life, you need less stress in your life.
4. Get off the pills and multi-vitamins and Go Outside.
For years the pharma companies have been selling placebo's call Multi-Vitamins. They don't do anything. They're worthless.
Mentally they make you feel like you're doing something, and if that provides less stress in your life, "oh look honey, we can take this pill and feel better", go for it - but that's not the way to good health.
Let's face it, today there is a pill for everything - real, or imagined.
Babies now live in the womb of a pregnant mother for 9 months while she takes paxil, xanax, or some other addictive anxiety drug, only to be born and no longer have access to their drug of choice.
Babies go cold turkey out of the womb and are years later diagnosed with some disorder or mental illness.
You don't think it might have something to do with the fact it's mom took drugs the whole time it was baking do you?
If you spend all of your time inside looking at a computer. TV screen or just working, do your body a favor and go outside. Even if you have to work outside.
There's a reason they let kids out on the playground in the middle of the afternoon.
They need the sun.
Especially when the sun is out. Guess what, the sun provides the essential vitamins and nutrients your body needs.
God is the giver of life. The sun is the nutrition of life. And water sustains life and helps it grow.
Get off the drugs. Drugs mask the underlying problem and only treat the symptom.
Get off the multi-vitamins that don't provide any benefit, and get outside.
That's healthy. The sun is awesome. God made it for a reason.
Basking in the heat of the sun will help eliminate stress from your mind and life.
I will tell you I know for a fact, when you get out in the sun, you won't "feel" healthier because you're in the sun.
You will be healthier because your body will let you know it feels better - more than the mind ever will.
5. Live a life as free from stress as humanly possible.
The picture for this post is me writing this now in my back yard. Pretty stress free environment and I like being here alone, outside, by the pool.
Fishing pole and canal available if I want to go cast a line. And I do - 4 or 5 times a day.
Remove any barrier to stress in your life that you have.
Sometimes you can't do that all at once. Sometimes it's a little here, a little there.
Sometimes you can cut it out with a scalpel to precision, and sometimes you just have to just hack away and get as much of it out as you can.
Start with these things above.
- Stop listening to experts - whether trying to control your life with what you eat, do, say, or drink, they only want to control you. You're a grown person who can make your own decisions. And no one escapes dying. Enjoy life and that piece of pie.
- Stop worrying about things you can't control like 'saving the planet'. You can't do it and it's not happening. Just other people once again trying to control your life. The earth will be here long after you're not. As for people who thought they could 'save it' before they died, look where they are now.
- Don't listen to the doom and gloom of the news. Pay attention to learn just enough to know enough and then turn that stuff off.
- Go outside. Get in the sun. Rejuvenate under it's rays.
- Remove as much stress as you can in life. That's the clear path to improving your health.
Because each day will have enough trouble of it's own and you're not here to be stressed - you're here to look for Open Doors and Opportunity.
